About Songlines

The astounding project of Songlines, one of Germany’s most original piano – saxophone jazz duos, with pianist Sebastian Altekamp and Wolfgang Bleibel (saxophones and clarinets) as well as vocalist Maria de Fatima has met with an enthusiastic response.

Their music joins together brilliant compositions, the perfect symbiosis of aesthetics and emotions, as well as a musical idiom full of clarity and beauty, with the tremendous expressiveness of an artist, whose roots lie in Portuguese Fado and in Latin – American music.

The exceptional combination of contemporary jazz, Fado and Latin creates a unique sound and at the same time opens new and fascinating ways of interpreting Fado.
